This video is what it looks and sounds like during whale season as you face the edge of the inner crater snorkeling. The water is very clear and you can hear Humpbacks singing in the background as well as view lots of fish. This is a very practicle perspective on what you would feel, see, and hear snorkeling inside of Molokini Crater. Mahalo.
This short video shows you what the inside of the crater looks like from the surface of the water if you were going to snorkle or swim around. Its brief and pans from the far right to the far left. Enjoy.
Most of the charters have a slide that you can use since the interior of the crater is basically like a big swimming pool. This particular charter, the Four Winds II, now repalced by the Four Winds III shows the view of using a slide off the ship into the water, a must do. I highly recommend Four Winds through Snorkle Bobs a great activity booking company.
If you want to reserve a trip to Molokini crater through Four Winds (or another company), contact my wife Cindy at the Kihei office of Snorkel Bobs. She will set you up to go snorkeling.

This is the left side of the crescent entrance to Molokini crater as you approach the snorkeling spot.
This is the view heading back to Maui with a Great Frigatebird soaring in the sky. They like to nest on Molokini crater and are lots of fun to watch with very large wing spans.
This is the back wall of the crater that is great for diving but not snorkeling due to the strong currents and deep, shear cliff wall into the water. Fun to look at though . . .
The Ali'i Nui is a luxurious catamaran that has many charters available including Molokini Crater snorkeling, turtle watching and so much more. I highly recommend this company regardless of the activity. Excellent crew, food, and activities.
The Four Winds III is an outstanding value and just plain fun. Both my wife and I have been on countless charters with them to Molokini crater and Coral Gardens.

This is your humble host and photographer Theron of Peckphotographyart with my wife of over 30 years having a blast snorkeling at Molokini Crater. Come join us! Lots of fun.
The layers of rock are very cool to look at as you can see from this picture.

A large body of water in the foreground with a volcanic island in the background and a clear sky overhead.
When you snorkle, you generally have 1-2 crew members acting as a life guard in case you need help. They are there to watch and keep everyone save but not to interfere with your fun. Smart and fun go together. Enjoy.
